ABOUT THE TITLE

 MORENA

Before I started writing this fanfic, gusto ko na one word lang dapat and title nito. I was choosing between Mayumi and Morena. For me, both words have strong association with Devon.

Mayumi according to my research, (he, he!) means modest, unassuming, unpretentious, humble, shy, meek

• Maraming beses na nakita ko na si James ang laging humihiga sa lap ni Devon, never na si Devon ang nahiga sa lap ni James, tapos dapat may unan o jacket. 

• Sa maraming beses na sinabihan siyang maganda siya, (hindi lang ni James, pati nina Ivan, Bret at Ryan.) Ang reaksiyon niya parang hindi siya convince na maganda siya. 

• Hindi din po siya yung sinabihan ni James ng “Don’t do that!” at nilecturan about sa panghahaplos ng thigh.                                                                                                                                                       
• Hindi niya kinahiya kung saan siya galing, at kung ano lang ang meron siya o alam niya. (Yung sauna or the food that’s even low fat daw.) 

But eventually I picked Morena kasi hindi masyadong karefine si Devon, she loves to hit people, sabi nga ni Bret. (He,he!) One of the boys kasi.

Morena because I wanted to celebrate her color, our color, yun naman kasi talaga ang kulay ng mga Pinay diba? Madami siyang bashers dahil sa morena siya pero I love her because she’s Devon. She’s morena and she’s proud of it.
